Major Works

The Undiscovered Kitchen

An exploration of the very everyday detritus of meal preparation and consumption, transforming it through paint into something otherworldly.

Eating the Masters

Studying the works of old masters, I strip them down to the bones of their composition, colour, and movement, rebuilding my own paintings atop them.

Quarantine Canteen

During the pandemic I began a series based on images friends  and family were sharing of their food, relinquishing of control in my imagery while vicariously sharing meals with the people I was missing.

The Townsfolk

The Townsfolk are each a surprising combination of friendly and fearsome, handsome and hideous, funny and unfathomable.

The Hothouse

Merging and contrasting the historical masculine physical ideal with the delicate intricacy of floral structures, a lustful eye is turned on the male body, luxuriating in muscle and tone, but subverting the masculine stare by replacing it with faceless vegetal structures — beautiful and alluring, yet open to the stamp of our own visual desires.

Icons of the Overlooked

Tiny but precious, these paintings on gilded panels give status and celebration to the small, the strange, and the overlooked.
